2011 - 2012 After Classes
English education in Japan’s schools tends to take a very systematic approach, and focuses on teaching students mainly grammar. Essential English skills, such as basic conversation and pronunciation, are often overlooked in favour of studying from a textbook. Whilst a text book can benefit a student to a certain degree, more can be gained by combining it with a curriculum that gives the student ample opportunity to hone all their language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).
Our curriculums follows a series of monthly topics that are built upon each year the students attend P.E.A. These topics cover key areas of English conversation and grammar, and enable the student to learn vocabulary in a natural manner. Combining this with a textbook that is suited to the level of the class will help further develop the student’s English skills.
* These dates are subject to change and are at first flexible. If at first there is a request for some classes to occur on different days, this request will be looked into, and changes may be made.

Our teachers’ dynamic and creative approach to educating others helps to create a fun classroom atmosphere which encourages students to have fun with their English and help them learn to love learning.
We offer 3 levels of after class; Beginner, Advanced and Returnee.
Students have a choice of taking a 120 minute “Short” After Class (16:30 ～ 18:30) or a 180 minute “Full” After Class (15:30 ～ 18:30), and can choose from a range of combinations that make it cheaper to study. We also offer After Class and Saturday Class combination courses.

Our Beginner - Kinder After Class is for students aged 3 - 6, who have from NO level of English to students who are aware of the alphabet and it’s letters and sounds. We aim to give the students basic communication skills in English, and introduce a solid vocabulary, building on the knowledge that the children already have. We will introduce simple phonics and help the students in the four main areas of English - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. | |||||

Our Intermediate After Class is for students who already have a knowledge of the simple phonetic sounds of the alphabet and who are able to blend sounds together in order to start being able to spell words correctly. There aim of this class is for students to learn more difficult phonetic blends and improve on their reading and writing skills as well as introducing more vocabulary and encouraging the use of more detailed and full responses to questions. | |||||

Our Advanced After Class is aimed at students who have been learning English for some time, and who are able to communicate using more complex sentences rather than simple one word answers. In this class we will introduce aspects of grammar to the students and encourage them to improve their writing and spelling skills. At this level we encourage students to use as much English as possible and role play and free talk will play a large role in how we will do this. | |||||

Our Returnee After Class is for students who have attended international schools or who have studied overseas, and who have a high level of spoken and written English. The aim of this class is for students to maintain their level of English, and to try to develop it further. Many students who have studied overseas or in an international school notice a significant drop in their level once they stop studying every day. By having much longer lessons than most other English language schools, and the opportunity to combine this class with a Saturday class, this can maximise the students exposure to native English speakers, and allow them more opportunity to use their English. | |||||
